NOTICE, ERC Case No. 2014-002 RM, In The Matter of Setting an Interim Mitigating Measure in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) [Archive-399]

Notice is hereby given that a proposed Resolution Setting an Interim Mitigating Measure in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) is hereby posted for comment. In the said Resolution, the Commission, for the protection of public welfare, deems it appropriate to mitigate sustained high prices in the WESM on an interim basis during the months of May and June 2014 by setting a secondary price cap in the amount of PhP6,245.00/MWh upon reaching an average price threshold of PhP7,808.00 over a seventy-two (72) hour rolling period.

All interested parties may submit their comments thereon (in both hard and soft copies) using the prescribed format at the ERC Main Office at Pacific Center Building, San Miguel Avenue, Pasig City, not later than April 22, 2014. Electronic copies may be sent to spotmarket@erc.gov.ph.

The proposed Resolution may be photocopied at cost, during regular office hours at the ERC Main Office or may be downloaded from the ERC website at www.erc.gov.ph.
