ERC slates 2nd DU's RCOs National Conference
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), as part of its proactive measures for regulation, will be conducting its 2nd National Conference for Distribution Utilities’ (DUs) Regulatory Compliance Officers (RCOs) on 24-25 June 2008. It will be held at the Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan City.
The DU RCO conference will bring together 141 DU executives (20 from private DUs and 121 from electric cooperatives [ECs]) all over the country to discuss the updates on the regulatory issuances of the ERC. This is in line with the Mandatory Regulatory Education Program (MREP) promulgated by the ERC through Resolution No. 5, series of 2006.
An RCO is the designated point person of a DU holding a senior management position vested with full authority to transact, comply with regulatory issuances, submit requirements, certify reports and submissions, and attend meetings and assemblies organized by the ERC.
“Compliance to the ERC’s issuances leads to the improvement on the efficiency of the DUs and better customer service. The ERC is ensuring that this National Conference will be a fruitful event,” ERC Chairman Rodolfo B. Albano, Jr. said.
The
ERC engaged the services of the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association
(PHILRECA) as event organizer. RCOs and other DU executives can register by
contacting Mr. Fabbie Caballar at telephone numbers (632) 374-1198 to 99 or
(0906) 207-3724 or sending an email to philreca@skydsl.com.ph on or before 30
