The DMC was created, among others, to: (1) facilitate the monitoring of compliance with the Philippine Distribution Code (PDC) at the Operational Level; (2) ensure that all users of the distribution system are represented in reviewing and making recommendations pertaining to connection, operation, maintenance and development of the distribution system; and (3) to specify the processes for the settlement of disputes, enforcement and revision of the PDC.
The PDC refers to the set of rules and regulations governing the DUs in the operation and maintenance of their distribution systems which includes, among others, the standards for service and performance, and defines and establishes the relationship of the distribution systems with the facilities or installations of the parties connected to the distribution system.
Members of the DMC have a term of three (3) years and can only be re-appointed once. Nomination and selection of members are subject to the guidelines and procedures promulgated by the ERC.
“On behalf of the ERC, I congratulate the new members of the DMC. We trust that they will play a proactive role in helping the ERC enforce compliance to the PDC to ensure the delivery of quality and reliable electricity service by the distribution utilities (DUs) to their end-users,” ERC Chairperson Ducut said.
