ERC and GMC to hold seminars on Grid Operation and Planning Practices
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Grid Management Committee (GMC) will hold one-day technical seminars on Grid Operation and Planning Practices in three key cities in the Philippines.
The seminars, open to all electricity stakeholders, will be conducted by Mr. Michael Raezer, Executive Consultant of Utility System Efficiencies, Inc., based in Tucson, Arizona, USA. The electric power industry players are excited for this opportunity to further enhance their knowledge on grid operation and planning practices.
The topics in the seminars include: 1) Grid Reliability Standards, 2) Performance-Based Regulation/Grid Performance Indicators; 3) Independent Systems Operator vs. Integrated Grid Owner-System Operator – A Comparative Analysis; and 4) Market-Based Transmission Planning.
The seminar for Luzon-based electricity stakeholders will be held on 12 February 2008 (Tuesday) at the Meralco Mini Theater, Basement, Lopez Building, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Those in the Visayas region will have their opportunity on 18 February 2008 (Monday) when the same seminar will be conducted at the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center located at 35 Lopez Jaena St., Cebu City. Interested parties in Mindanao will have the chance to attend it on 20 February 2008 (Wednesday) at the Executive Training Room of the Davao Light & Power Co., Inc. (DLPC) located at the Rondez Complex, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City. All seminars will start at 9:00 A.M. and end at 4:00 P.M.
