ERC Chief warns against scheming lawyers

Chairman Rodolfo B. Albano, Jr. of the ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission) warns its stakeholders, especially the distribution utilities (DUs), of scheming lawyers who claim to be influential with the ERC Chairman. These lawyers go around and claim that they can expedite the disposition of cases in favor of the DUs because of their strong ties with the ERC Chairman.

“I am strongly warning this group to desist from its nefarious activities. Administrative and criminal remedies will be pursued by the ERC to put a stop to their unethical practice,” Chairman Albano exclaimed.

“I ask the DUs to ignore these bad elements. The ERC honors the highest ethical standards. Cases brought before it will always be decided based on merits,” Chairman Albano said.

“The ERC assures its stakeholders that the ERC will remain faithful to its mandate of promoting and protecting the welfare and interests of its stakeholders, especially the electricity consumers,” Chairman Albano said.
