Notice in the matter of the adoption of the Uniform Business Practices (UBP)
Notice is hereby given that the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is in the process of drafting the standardized business rules for Distribution Utilities - Retail Electricity Supplier - Supplier of Last Resort (DU-RES-SOLR) interactions, particularly those relating to custormer switching. Said set of rules shall be referred to as the Uniform Business Practices.
As the UBP covers processes relating to customer transfers and settlements, a Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of representatives from DU's, generating companies, the consumer sector and other relevant groups, shall be convened to provide insights relevant to the determination of efficient procedures.
Relative thereto, the Commission hereby invites the abovementioned sectors to nominate their respective representatives to form part of the TWG. Said representatives must at least be knowledgeable on the flow of operations relating to customer transfer, such as metering, billing and settlement. The Commission reserves the right to determine the number of representatives that will comprise the TWG.
The TWG meetings are initially set on February 22, 23 and 24, 2006 at the 12th Floor, ERC Market Operations Service (MOS), Pacific Center Building, San Miguel Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The draft UBP may be downloaded from the Commission's website at www.erc.gov.ph. or photocopied at cost, during the usual office hours, from the MOS at the abovementioned address.
For other inquiries, concerned parties may contact Ms. Marives D. Santos, Chief of the Contestable Market Division at telephone number (02) 914-5000 local 147 or through email address: mdsantos@erc.gov.ph.
