PDM scheduled hearings for the Philippine WESM cancelled

Notice is hereby given that the scheduled hearings for the Price Determination Methodology (PDM) for the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), filed by Philippine Electricity Market Corporation-Market Operator (PEMC-MO) have been cancelled.

The PEMC-MO filed with the Commission its Motion to Withdraw its Application for the approval of the proposed PDM on 7 February 2006. PEMC made the withdrawal in the light of the recent decision of the Supreme Court in National Association of Electricity Consumers for Reforms (NASECORE), et, al. vs. Energy Regulatory Commission and Manila Electric Company.

The motion for withdrawal was granted by the Commission in a hearing set on 10 February 2006 with PEMC manifesting that it will file anew an Application for the approval of the PDM in order to incorporate the revisions and associated procedures which were made as a result of the comments and discussions made during the public consultation and compliances required by the Commission in previous Orders.
