ERC thanks USAID and WORLD BANK

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) awarded a plaque of appreciation to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank in a simple ceremony held on April 28, 2004 at its Ortigas office.

ERC Chairman Rodolfo B. Albano, Jr. presented the plaques to the representatives of USAID and the consultants of World Bank in the presence of the ERC Commissioners and Service Directors.

Once again, USAID and World Bank have demonstrated their undying commitment towards helping our country achieve the respect of the global community for the reforms we are currently implementing in the electric power industry,” Chairman Albano remarked.

The USAID was instrumental in the completion of the first phase of the Commission’s strategic planning held in Tagaytay City on April 16-17, 2004. More funds and consulting resources have been allocated by the said Agency to complete the planning exercise in the next few weeks. On the other hand, World Bank provided technical assistance to ERC in conducting a seminar on Rural Electrification Regulatory Framework held on February 9-20, 2004 and April 19-30, 2004. It also secured a donation of information technology equipment from the CASTALIA Strategic Advisors.
