ERC approves 20 new COCs
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) approved the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance (COC) of 20 more Self Generation Facilities (SGFs) in a Commission meeting held on 19 November 2004 for complying with the requirements prescribed in the COC guidelines. This brings the total number of approved COCs for power generating entities to 157, of which 42 are IPPs.
The following are the 20 companies granted the COC: Mandarin Oriental Manila, Inc. (1.8MW) and Rohm Apollo Semiconductor Phils., Inc. (12.3MW), Nippon Paint Philippines, Inc. (950kW), ITEC Corp. (836kW) Atomed Cebu, Inc. (63kW), Sarrosa International Hotel & Residential Suites Corp. (600kW), Kohzan Cavite, Inc. (525kW), Philippine Makoto Corp. (445kW), South Gold Garments Corp. (430kW), Miyasaka Polymer (Phils.), Inc. (408kW), Technoclean Philippines, Inc. (400kW), Mehitabel, Inc. (305kW), Strata Suites Condominium Corp. (300kW), Scarborough Fine Furniture, Inc. (280MW), Men Seng Restaurant/Hotel (168kW), Armstrong Realty Investments, Inc. (127.5kW), Cebu Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels (87.2kW), Jack’s Ridge Resort & Rest. Corp. (80kW), Blaze Manufacturing Corp. (46.4kW), and KYOCERA KINSEKI Philippines, Inc. (41kW).
“The Commission is committed to grant the COCs to power generating entities that comply with the standards and requirements to ensure safe and efficient generation of electricity for the benefit of the public. Corollary, a reminder is being given to all power generating entities that 31 March 2005 is the deadline for filing of their respective application for the issuance of a COC,” said ERC Chairman Rodolfo B. Albano, Jr.
As of press time, 49 applications for COC are with the Commission awaiting compliance of documentary requirements to proceed with the evaluation and inspection.
