ERC approves 10 more COC's
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) approved the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance (COC) to ten (10) Self Generation Facilities (SGFs) in a Commission deliberation held on October 13, 2004 for complying with the requirements prescribed in the COC guidelines, as amended. This brings the total number of approved COCs for power generating entities to one hundred fifteen (115).
The Commission approved the COC application of Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of the Phils. Inc. and Toyo-Ink Compounds Corporation, each with total installed capacity of 1.2 MW. Other SGFs to be awarded a COC include; Hitachi Industrial Machinery Phils. Corp. with installed capacity of 800 kW, Halifax Davao Hotel, Inc. (800 kW), Nitto Denko (Phils) (400 kW), J. F. Rubber Phils., Inc. (332 kW), JD Dynamic Corporation (276 kW), Cebu Grand Hotel (200 kW), Centerpoint Condominium Association, Inc. (175 kW), and Bank of the Philippine Island, San Miguel, Ortigas Branch (37.6 kW).
“The Commission is happy to note that generation companies are beginning to realize the importance of technical, financial, and safety standards,” ERC Chairman Rodolfo B. Albano, Jr. said.
As of press time, forty one (41) applications for COC are with the Commission awaiting compliance of documentary requirements to proceed with the evaluation and inspection.
