ERC Chair lauds an employee's act of honesty
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chairman Manuel R. Sanchez commends ERC employee Federico D. Bustamante, Jr. for his act of honesty and good will.
Bustamante is assigned to Commissioner Jesus Alcordo, whom he has been serving for the past nine years.
On his way to the Centennial airport last November 23, 2003 at around 2 p.m., Bustamante saw a bag filled with jewelry, some documents, plane tickets, and a pair of sunglasses
n his desire to return the bag to its owner, Bustamante called the airline company indicated in the plane tickets but was advised to communicate through the head office of the airline company located in the Middle East. Bustamante then called Mayor Alfredo Lim’s radio program to report that he has found the bag and hoping that the owner would hear the news.
Fortunately, the owner’s brother-in-law heard the report of Bustamante on the radio.
Last November 25, the bag owner went to ERC to personally thank the good employee.
Chairman Sanchez lauded Bustamante for exemplifying ERC’s vision of having professional people with the highest degree of integrity.
“I am proud of Mr. Bustamante. His sincerity and uprightness deserve to be recognized. An act of kindness from one employee boosts the morale of the entire organization,” ERC Chairman Sanchez said.
This is the second time an ERC employee received commendation for doing such a noble act. Earlier this year, Engr. Patrick Fontanilla, upon finding paper bills worth 8,000 pesos at the Pacific Center Building, surrendered the cash to the office of Pasig City Mayor Soledad C. Eusebio.
