ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION

A world class and independent electric power industry regulator that equitably promotes and protects the interests of consumers and other stakeholders, to enable the delivery of long-term benefits that contribute to sustained economic growth and an improved quality of life.

ERC DAVAO CITY CHIEF DESIGNATED AS OIC-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) designated the Chief of ERC Davao City, Atty. Ronaldo G. Gomez, as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) - Executive Director of the regulatory body.

A Davao City-based lawyer, Gomez has been instrumental in establishing ERC’s presence in the south after holding the top position in its Mindanao Field Office for five (5) years.

Commenting on the assignment, ERC Chairman and CEO Jose Vicente Salazar said, “We are delighted to welcome Atty. Dong Gomez back to the head office as OIC-Executive Director.”

A distinguished member of the Freemasons, Gomez took the reins as OIC-Executive Director to lead the administrative functions of the ERC. Salazar expressed optimism on the designation of Gomez and ensured his support in the latter’s new role.

“His extensive experience in administration and regulation in the industry is an outstanding addition to our team. We are all looking forward to working with him,” Salazar said.
An alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas, Gomez obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the Arellano University School of Law in 1999, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year. He earlier served in the judiciary as Clerk of Court and worked as an Attorney for the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) before he joined the ERC.

With over two decades of committed government service, seven years of which were dedicated to ERC, Gomez currently leads the execution and implementation of policies, decisions, orders and resolutions approved by the Commission. Currently, he is spearheading the Chairman’s drive to devolve some of ERC’s operational functions to the Field Offices and provide a more efficient way of delivering services to the public.

“I will do my best to help the Commission face the challenges of the industry and I look ahead to my involvement in the growth of ERC,” Gomez said.
